Ah, three customer support is useless. I used to work for o2 broadband support, and we used to use this trick.

Go to device manager (In XP right click my computer, properties, Hardware tab, and click device manager. In vista, type device manager into the search bar in the start menu.)

Find the three broadband modem under "Modems", and double click it.

Click the advanced tab, and you will see a box for an extra initializaion string. Copy and paste this here, including the inverted commas:

    at+cgdcont=1,"IP","3ireland.ie"

    Click OK

This should hopefully solve your problem. If you get a new error message when you try to connect, it means the code is wrong or hasnt worked. Go back and delete this string, and ring three again. If it does work, you can leave everything as is.

PS, Even though I got this code while working with O2, I pass it on as my own, they take no responsibility for its use!!

    Best of luck, Ken
