Once again a combination on boredom and spare cash leads to another hair brained guitar modding scheme - and this time I've decided to share it with you all!
This one's mostly electrical and follows a simple, yet hopefully effective, receipe:
take one epiphone les paul 100
install one gfs dream90 pickup (no need for a neck pickup)
    add one compressor/sustainer modboard
and hope for the best :)
also replace the volume/tone pots and cap to suit the p90
    add some locking tuners

if all goes according to plan I should end up with a concentric gain/threshold knob for the sustainer with an on/off true bypass switch, volume/tone knobs that actually work properly and a guitar that stays in tune!

I'll post pics as stuff happens and hopefully some sound clips at the end - wish me luck !

edit: made a few changes to the receipe after consulting with jay from guitarfetish, and added in a few general upgrades

Ah, I wouldn't say ridiculous, it's not that it's an expensive guitar that you're experimentin' with, so you're losing nothin' if it fails miserably.

    Keep us posted anywho.
    Oh and good luck ;)

    Time for an update :)

My order arrived this morning, unfortunately the actual MODBoard was not included :(
So I have all the pots and switches but nothing to connect them to. sigh.
Guess it'll be another couple of weeks before this is finished.

It'll probally be the most of 2 weeks now until it's all assembled, but I'll keep ya posted.
