Upgrading to Sky HD, installation question.....

At the moment I have Sky+ in the main living room, and a normal Sky box upstairs.
To cut a long story short, we're building an extension in a couple of months and the new room will be the kids' room. I saw the Sky HD ad this morning (€149 for the HD box) so my plan is to replace the current Sky+ box with a HD one, and use that Sky+ box in the new room (leaving the normal Sky box upstairs as it it).
So I called up Sky and told them what I'd like to do. Fine says the guy on the phone, the current offer is €149 for the HD box and €50 installation. I said I don't need an installation, I can just swap the Sky+ box for the new HD box, all the cabling and dish are already in place. I said surely I don't need an installation for that, but I will need one for the new room in September/October. He says they have to send an engineer out with every box which actually costs them €100, blah, blah, blah....
and that Sky can't do the installation for me in a couple of months, I'd have to get a third party to do that.

    Is that all correct?
If so, can anyone recommend anyone to do the Sky+ installation in September/October?

Thats right, even if they don't install it, there is still the €50 fee. You could install the Sky+ box yourself. It would only be a matter of connnecting a wire to the dish and feeding it through to the room.

Is it easy enough to install a Sky+ box?
What kind of "wire" do I need? (is it not 2 wires?)
Say if I did install it myself, when I go to Sky for a viewing card and to activate another multi-room, will they not say that I'm "not licenced" to do it or some crap like that???

Sorry, I thought you were going to use the Sky+ box for FTA channels. You only need two wires going to the Sky+ box if you are planning to record programmes, but to record programmes you need to have the viewing card in the box. If you are planning to record programs using the Sky+ box, you will have to change your LNB because you'll need 5 inputs. (one for the Sky box, two for the Sky+ box and two for the HD box). You shouldn't have any trouble getting a multiroom subscription.

Maybe you should start at the beginning. There's no point in asking questions if you don't know the very basics:
