Upgrading my GC - is this worth it?

Basically, I play COD 4 a lot, and want to boost the graphics a bit. is this worth paying for, it's my limit on spending.

Not worth it, card is no better than your current one.

8600gt is quite capable in COD4.

The 8500GT must be the biggest lemon out there, god knows how many people 'upgrade' to them only to find them worse than their current card,
in your case your 7600GS is FASTER than that 8500GT.. in fact, some of the ancient 6 series nvidia cards are faster than 2 8500gt's in SLI..
Don't ever buy a 8500GT for gaming, fullstop.


A 8600GT with ddr3 would be ok..

However, wait till you have 30 or 40 euros more, and upgrade to that 8800GS from dabs.ie, you will see a huge difference then..

If you spend a lot of time playing COD4 then its easily worth it for just 40 euros extra.

And remember, when you want to buy graphics cards, DON'T look at the damn memory size, at that budget it means nothing, read the reviews!

Assuming they do deliver it, then yes, it's a good deal, the card is literally about 5 times more powerful then a 7600GS...it was a shame to have your machine crippled by such an old card until now...
