    Hi guys, I'm not much of a photography but i have just imported a load of pics through windows.however, i need them to be below 2mb....

    anyone have any tips in reducing the size?

    You'll just be looking for something to batch process them all in the one go I imagine.
    Assuming you're working off XP just go here http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/Downloads/powertoys/Xppowertoys.mspx and look for the 'ImageResizer.exe' link on the lower right edge of the page (scroll down a bit).
    That will allow you to select a load of pics and just right click em and set output size.

    If you can't use resizer, picasa will let you resize them and do some more as well.

    The Gimp or IrFanview are both useful for this and much more.

    alternatively get a demo version of adobe fireworks its supposed to be the best at compressing jpegs. I am not sure of how easy to batch process a folder of images though.

    what sizes are the images I mean dimensions?

    what you could do is decide on a size for them and use infraview to batch convert them to that size infraview allows you to reduce the the longest side to a number of pixels and does it in a batch process.
