I want to commison a consultancy firm to do a feasibility study on a drinks industry related business venture, googled a bit and found a few marketing and consultancy firms that seem to advertise them, thing is I can't find much regarding their reputations, was wondering if anyone had any experience with this kind of thing or who I would contact to find out the best firm to approach. I'm going to spend money on this and I don't want to just throw it away on some cowboys who might produce something pretty looking but of no real value.

Have you heard about the innovation vouchers? If your product/service falls under their remit you can get €5000 worth of consulting from a 3rd level institution. Enterprise Ireland will have another call for the vouchers in September - http://www.enterprise-ireland.com/innovationvouchers. Within 3rd level institutions you will find a lot of business/entrepreneurship departments who do research for small businesses.

    Good luck!
