Does Ireland have the most poker rooms?

It just crossed my mind that Ireland probably has the most poker rooms in the world per capita. Can anyone tell me if this is true? I think it has to be.

Take Donegal for example. You have Letterkenny, Bridgend and Buncrana X 2. There was a second in Letterkenny that didn't take off and I've heard rumours of a club in Donegal Town.

I would imagine this is becoming the case in all the rural counties.

    ?

i'm sure some scottish citizen could tell you of a game that gets going in their local "snooker club" that you'll never take into account

Monaco? Population 30000, so Ireland needs 120 pokerrooms for every 1 that Monaco has to win this contest. (I'm not sure how many Monaco has though, obviously the famous one).

And that one is top class! Was on the steps of it just over a week ago. I never noticed loads more though, just a smaller one across from the main one.

There's an article in Yesterdays Money & Jobs section of the Irish Examiner that reports over 40 Casinos/Card Rooms in Ireland.

It also reports that over €20 million has been gambled in the Fitz since 2006.

I would say both these figures are wrong. There are more than 40 casino/clubs in ireland. More again if you include the north. And the €20 million figure doesnt surprise me at all. Wouldve thought it would be more tho...

the €20 million is really meaningless because there is no indication how that is calculated. It's just another lazy journalist who wanted a cool number for his article, or at best a cynical one who realises that most of his readership is equally ignorant tards who will go €20 million . He could just have easily written €100 million.

What are the implications of us having the most card rooms?
Is this is confirmed are we doomed to suffer yet another insufferable stereotype?

Will this become paddypowers next big marketing 'sexup' of irish poker?

It's as much to do with the government's non-regulation of the industry as it is to with Paddy the Gambler. With the endless number of little cardamoms popping up everywhere We are becoming the Amsterdam of the Poker World.
