Film identification

    Sadly, this is going to be another of the "Name this film!" threads :(

    I've seen (or I reckon I've seen) a film a few years back which starts off with a couple in their relatively isolated house/mansion. A gunman with a grudge breaks in and effectively holds them hostage. I have sod all idea about what happens after this. I think the gunman's got some gripe because he was let go from his job in a company run by the husband and I think he was played by Ray Winstone. I've had a look at Winstone's filmography but nothing's ringing any bells. Effectively this is all speculation but it's driving me nutty.

    Help...

    The plot sounds slightly reminiscent of 'Swimming With Sharks', but really doubt it's that unless you're mistaking Ray Winstone for Kevin Spacey.

    Ray Winstone living in Spain (I think) with his wife retired from his life as a gangster and Ben Kingsley shows up wanting him to do a job.

    Hell no, though Sexy Beast was fantastic! I think this is set in rural England.
    It wasn't Swimming with Sharks either... Knowing my luck it's an amalgam of a bunch of films I've seen.

    and if u dont know what movie it was...may i suggest that u were high whilst in a dream like state that u dreamt this movie,and if so,please put it into production?...sounds gud!xx

    After much googling, I think I might have found it:Darkness Falls.
    Apparently I had most of the details wrong but the general gist right...:rolleyes:
    Crisis averted.
