    Hi there,

i am a regular poster but decided to go unreg for this embarrasing prob..

A month ago i was diagnosed with having scabies, my partner got them too. We went to the doc got the cream treatment and after two applications we both felt much better- no more scratching at all...

Well its a month on and i noticed two hive like things on my thigh last night (partner clear of all signs).. by this morning i had another two on my leg..

I feel exactly the same as when i had them.. scratchy all over, feelings of things crawling all over me etc...

Partner so far has no symptoms...

A month ago when we had them all bedclothes were washed, towels clothes etc washed......

But yesterday i wore a jacket i had worn at the time and forgot to wash.. could they have been living on my jacket for a whole month?.. and could this be the reason for them coming back???

Luckly i have lotion left over from last episode to treat us both again... but how do i ensure i get rid of them for good this time.....

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Go to the doctor again.

As for domestic tips, maybe someone here has some advice for you?

I got scabies at summer camp and have scares on my legs from where I tore the skin off. Not pretty AT ALL I scared the sh*t out of my room mates.

Wash EVERYTHING!!! I got them off the mattress I think at the time. Or maybe the beds sheets were never washed. But wash all your clothes. The whole lot.

My mum went nuts and just washed everything. All the clothes, all the sheets, towels, pillow cases. It's the only way to make sure that they're gone and to get some peace of mind.

Even if you are nearly sure you didn't wear an item of clothing and it hasn't been washed as there is no need, the nagging feeling can make you anxious and bring back the symptoms when there is no cause.

Wash everything (all bedding, clothes, towels)at 60 degrees, and dry in the dryer.
Vacuum the floors in your house and throw the bag away.
If you have missed something, the mites can't live more than 4 days without a human host - so I don't think the jacket was the reason for them coming back.
