    Countdown hasn't been worth watching since Richard Whitely died. Not to worry about Carol though, you can see her whoring insurance on tv all the time.

    They should retire Countdown now that she's gone. It's not been the same since Richard Whitely died. :( None of the replacement hosts have worked really and it's hard to see who'd be a good replacement for Carol Vorderman. Now there's a scary thought!

    Typical - we only got Channel 4 a few weeks ago so I only started watching Countdown then. And now the two of 'em are retiring! :mad:

    Des O'Connor I could live without, but Carol Vorderman?? Ratings will plummet and will probably lead to cancellation.

    Whoever replaces her will have to be able to multiply 73 * 8 subtract 9 and add 2. So that probably rules out Myleene Klass and most other of the current telly bimbos. But they are bound to be able to get some hot young mathematician, after all don't we have a hot physicist in Ireland in Aoibheann Ni Shuilleabhainn?

    Nobody thought the show would last after Richard Whitely died, but it did. I would not be surprised if they put Susie Dent in the other chair - she's the lexicographer at the moment.
