    Hi all
Not overly familiar with Cork but starting a course there in sept. How long before I go down should I start looking?
I'm looking to move into an established house share, within 15min walk of town and Uni.
I've been looking online and have not seen much on daft/gumtree.
I've also looked on the UCC website accom. part. Not very impressed.

Is there a place I should be putting my notice up or see other peoples notices on Campus/ Around the city?

I'm thinking of spending around the 500euro mark. Is that enough?
My main criteria is pref. a House with max 4 people sharing

500 euro is plenty for Cork! For a single room I wouldn't expect to pay much more than 300/350, maybe slightly more again for a single occupancy double sized room.

As for the area, to be that close to town and UCC you'd be looking at the Lough, Glasheen, Dennehy's Cross, Western Road etc. Daft.ie have quite a few listed in these places (if you want any help with locations drop me a PM).

As for when to start looking...that's a tough one. I'm moving away for college myself and am planning to head up for a few days before I actually move to secure somewhere as I don't want to be paying rent from now when I won't be there until September. That said I'm keeping an eye on the ads etc. in case some come up now 'available from September'. There isn't anywhere else I can think of to look (especially when you're not physically here), but maybe take a peek at the boards in the local shops etc. if you're down for a visit.

€500 could get you a city centre en-suite double room here - way too much for what you're looking for (happily)! As Ellscurr said, you should find all you need on Daft.
College Road, Western Road, Donovan's Road, Connaught Avenue, Gillabbey Street, Magazine Road, Victoria Cross - these are also areas that are very close to campus and town.

That's great. it's good to have the names of a few more places. Looks like there's more on daft than I thought.
    cheers

If you can get a copy of the Evening Echo that can also be a good place to look

Do not check into Arcadia Hall. The apartments are ok, if grubby, but they WILL find some way of getting more money out of you than appears on the intial agreement. Mostly by not refunding deposits /part deposits or esb balance. If you like loud parties, fire alarms going off all night, no admin support, damaged or missing basics like heaters and microwaves, and throwing money at them, well go for it, otherwise stay clear. (and yes, we have photographs of an immaculately clean and tidy apartment as it was left).
