Centrepoint is your best guess! But its a hoar or a distance for both of ye! Just man up and go seperate ways! You should really go down and visit!

To be honest my advice would be to split up and go you separate ways. You'll see plenty of each, Galway gets fairly small after a month or two.

Prospect hill/Bohermore would probably be 50/50 each way for you lads to live together.

    For accommodation see:

    www.galwayadvertiser.com classifieds section.

Feel free to drop me a pm, I'm from Mullingar and went to NUIG.

I'd also recommend you go your separate ways. GMIT and NUIG are fairly far apart. You'll still be able to see each other a lot because Galway is pretty small but with such a large distance to cover in the mornings lectures would quickly become very unattractive (especially when you factor in the rain!).
Also, moving in with new people is a great way to make new friends and you'd even be able to pal up with your friend's friends.

But, if you really want to, then coillcam is probably right, Prospect hill/Bohermore would be your best (and fairest) bet.

Other then Separate ways, centerpoint (as mentioned) or gort na glaise it think its called. On sandy road. Its a nice cycle for both of ye, and to be honest ye are going to be on your own out there. Everyone else in your classes will be living in student accomodation close to the colleges, or some other abode near to their college.
It will become a pain in the arse! In first year i lived in cuirt na coirib, everyone in my class was in coiribe village, or that area. Totally sucked! And their not even too far apart.

As a result, Black_Knight had no friends. :P Don't make the same mistake.
