    Lads,

I have tried everything I can think of now when it comes to bunkers yet they are still a pain in the rear to me. I have looked at videos and articles etc online but still can't get it right.
I very rarely hit a bunker but when I do it messes with my head, last week I scratched the same hole twice in stepaside because of the bunker!!
Is there any advice or links that you guys can offer me to try help me in this??

You could get a lesson or just read a few instruction books. For me once you have the basics right it's all about getting plenty of (intentional) practice in them.

There are a few video tips here, including one on bunkers

You have to register to see them but it's free.

This is a short term fix that I got my mam to use because she was terrified of bunkers. If the sand is wet and firm just chip it as normal, dont even think about hitting the sand. If the sand is soft just play it back in your stance and stand wide open. A half inch behind with plenty of hit and the ball will pop out. I know this is totally against standard but its a short term fix just to get it out. As your confidence grows you can try to do more with the ball.
Hope this helps in the interim

When something messes with your head, it's hard to get over it.... sounds like you need to visualise better what you intend to do, then practice the technique.

The first short video goes a little into explaining what goes on in a bunker shot.

The next video goes into more detail and gives a great understanding to what goes on in the shot (the fact that the club face is open doesn't mean that the ball will go off line etc..). It also demonstrates how to deal with a plugged ball.

Fairway bunkers require completely different technique again...

You are a leg-end, the second video is exactly what I was looking for. It goes into enough detail for me to knoe exactly what to try out.
