Not sure if the rain will hold off for the weekend but what is everyone's plans for the weekend?

I'm looking to play 18 somewhere in the south of dublin city tomorrow morning. As usual it will probably be stepaside or leopardstown. Any other recommednations?

Knocking off in an hour to play with some clients in Powerscourt ;)

Medal tomorrow in South County - going for three in a row having won last Saturday and Sunday!

Then Junior Scratch @ Old Conna on Sunday

Was supposed to play the O'Meara at Carton House in the morning, but my mate had to cancel because of work so might try look for a game in Killeen in Kildare if there's one going.

Playing this evening on the championship in City West then missing tomorrow as we have a pre season match for footy and then Old Conna on Sun for the Junior Scratch.....

    Elmgreen at 7.10am tomorrow
Don't usually play at the weekend so open fairways usually gets us much better courses for less than the €32 we'll be paying there.
Still, I've a week in Mt.Wolsely starting next Saturday to look forward to. Probably play there twice and might give Killerig another look. Hopefully it's improved since last time we played it.

Getting out to Rathcore GC tomorrow for a 9am tee-off. I've heard it's a worthwhile trek and at €50 seems reasonable?

It had better be..... I can only raise my game from poor to distinctly average on a good course!!

Play Carlow if you get an opportunity. I haven't played there recently but have heard great reports and any time I have ever played there it was fantastic.

I think it's a great course, personally, but it does have it's critics.

    Hi,
Played today (Sunday) on Deer Park (Howth)

My friend wanted to play the Short Course (12 Holes)...it was nice, but it's a bit that all were par 3.

It was nice craic though....the views are something out of this world and the weather was GREAT!!!

    Cheers, Marcelo

Played Wexford last Thursday and Helen's Bay (near Rosslare) on Friday.

Both were nice courses but the last two on Helen's Bay were links which was completely different to the rest of the course......I found them to be a bit of a let down as the rest of the course was ok.

Played 9 at stepaside on Saturday. Pretty awful though.
Weather permitting I'll be out tomorrow night, was thinking of Glencullen/Grange/Elm Green or dublin mountain.

How did you get on Gilly? Played there 3 weeks ago and enjoyed the links experience.

Played Spanish Point last Saturday. Left the driver at home as I was told it was a little short. All in all not a bad seaside course but wouldn't want to be playing it every week.

Playing Courtown next Saturday in an Open Fourball. One of my favourite courses.

I'd stay away from elmgreen, absolutely mobbed up there in the evenings recently. 6 holes in 2 hours last Tuesday night.

Hopefully Gowran Park scratch on Sunday, and maybe a rumble in Kilkenny Golf club on monday if I can, though not easy to play with a new child in the house... and it's certainly not easy to play well ;)

followed by the Semi final of the Barton Cup on Monday. !

Good luck with that Paul. What club are you with?
Do you have low/high combos or 7ish/7ish teams as a matter of interest?

Graeme, what's on in Headfort on Saturday?

I'm taking a week off - pretty golfed-out. Gonna hit the Galway races.

Just a singles open. I love the course so kinda head up any chance i can get.

MScull - you'll love it! Great course.

Think i'll take a week or so off soon too, got a busy few weekends coming up. I'll be needing a name badge around the house as the other half will never see me.

    .

I'm playing out of Malahide. we are playing Mullingar. The team has just been named and we have 5 juveniles playing. The oldest of them being 16.
Combinations vary a bit. I'm 3 my partner was 12, is now 9. the other pairings are 7/7 (one now 4), another 7/7 (one now 5), a 12/2, and a 4/10. the other pairings that we have used have been 1/13, and 5/9's.

Back to Killeen this evening. Hit the ball decent for the most part on Monday, but a pair of shanked irons coupled with my late collapse (mentioned in earlier thread!) leave alottttttt of room for improvement.

IK played in the first round. Hasn't played since. The combination of a 1 and a 13 doesnt really appeal to managment!

Played Royal County Down on Tuesday.

Without doubt the best course I have ever played, and I've played quite a few good ones around the world.

Played off the whites, which was actually mostly of blues for the day and we worked it out at about 7000 yards, which put a premium on the driver.

Every hole is a good one, and for anyone whose played it, that walk over the hill on the 9th has to be one of the most spectacular in the world.

Worked out at about e175 but was worth every cent.

Hows was the weather up there? When its clear and sunny, the views of Slieve Donard are just amazing.

Have always wanted to play it (my friends father is a member), but I'm afraid I wouldnt do it justice. Maybe in a year or two I'll give it a go :o

    +1

Even 7am last Saturday was too busy for my liking. While looking for two balls on the 2nd we (3 of us) called through the two ball behind us. Two good drives and two great woods right up to the green and we thought we'd seen the last of them. How wrong we were! Every jaysus tee we got to they were 150 yards ahead of us looking for balls in the trees. The course was empty ahead of them but do you think they'd call us back through? Not a chance.

Whenever we passed the 1st tee box there were two or three groups waiting and maybe one on the fairway and one on the green.

Weather was as good as it gets. Little cloudy early on but then the sun shone for the rest of the day. Bit of breeze alright but thats expected.

If you have the chance to play it, take it. You won't regret it.

Played Coolattin for the first time in March and had my best ever score (83strokes gr. off 20) so it'll always be one of my favourites . Some lovely par 3's like the orchard and the downhill one (10th ?)
