The Giant's Cut, and so am I !!!

Tonight I fought my way down a steep gully choked to chest level with thorny bushes. It wasn't much fun on the way down and on the way up I had a real battle on my hands. I'm cut to shreds and wrecked a pair of perfectly good jeans.

Anyway, I made it down into the Giant's cut, normally the reserve of canoeists. This one will find its way into my cave project. It's not technically a cave, however it had a similar feel of claustraphobic depth.

    Which one do you prefer?

    Really super shots Andy.

Like them both with an ever so slight preference for no.1.

I know it's a cloud, just over the opening, but it comes over as a smudge maybe?

2nd one for me Andy - the portrait format better suits the subject I think... Well done for getting these - a great addition to your project!

lovely feel to that first shot, I would however like to the #1 in portrait as already noted it seems to suit the shot more.

great shots, I think I like number 2 better, hard choice!

As usual Andy these are great, #2, I would have to say is the pick for me, the tinge of green just makes it, nice to know that there is some life down there.

I prefer the first - I like the wider perspective better and the b/w conversion is more mood invoking. Parts of the colour one look blown out particularly around the water level horizon. I guess given the trouble that you endured to get to the place that you didn't want to be down there later in the evening which, with more fading light would probably have allowed the longer exposure without blowing out some parts. They are minor though but probably transpose better in the black / white.

    Good stuff Andy (as usual!)

The colour and the feel of the rocks makes number 2 for me. But I prefer the first overall, there's more of interest under water. It's a bit more mysterious.

Hard to pick, but if you push me, I'll havet to go for the first one.
Fantastic effort & brilliant results, Andy.

    Thanks everyone,

Pearse, that you very much for awarding me that honour. It maybe should have been a "superstupid" badge though.

Last night I couldn't get to sleep because my legs were stinging with the literally hundreds of tiny cuts I've got all over them. I'm still suffering today.

Has anyone else noticed the interesting anatomical notation used in the images in question?
Methink Andy has cunningly twisted the angle of the image to imply sensual content.
The man is a subversive genius clearly.
    respect.

Superbs shots Andy, IMO your best yet. I would prefer the second one if pushed for an answer but both are really very good.

very nice shots Andy. no1 is mesmerizing. I think a VERY large print is in order for that one.

I agree with Borderfox, best yet maybe. I always check out and enjoy your cave shots, but these are tops.
