A fly on the wall look at the community relations section or maybe even exclusive access to the fines office and how they process the 000's of speeding fines.

They won't be coming within a mile of the coalface i bet.

But if they do, I'll let you know if I see them:D

CSI and Third watch eat your heart out!

You know its going to be cencered to ****, hand selected calls and crews they go with and every member that sees the camera coming near them will suddenly get that deer look "Listen, for the fifth time, shut the **** up, do what your told and **** off home, errrr is that recording?.... Im now directing you sir in a calm and professional manner to desist your activities and leave the area in a calm and reasonable manner under, blah blah blah" Then when the guy starts kicking up everyone will run away screaming "Not my prisoner, not my prisoner, Im only assisting"

    Hah true

You'll also see a lot of lads routing around for there Pulic Order Act Lecture, Drink Driving, Theft + Fraud Offences to get the "correct" wording.

I have a feeling their will be many a cringe moment.

lads... they have seen these problums so will pick the guys who are allways calm and dont **** around.... they send people out with out cameras first to see what that gardai is like on the beat... if the producer doesent think thats the right garda he moves to the next one to see if he / she is right for the camera...
think of the english police programs... they picked the cool guys... and im sure they have power heads over there aswell.. but they got guys who are good in front of the camera joke about and can deal with issues quickly and with out making them selfs look like cocks..

hopefully they found a gardai just like that :P

Customs could be interesting without a doubt as long as they give a good view of what they do without giving away all their secrets.

Went on a raid with customs once purely as a 'uniform' to assist and be seen. It was interesting.

Sounds good, looking forward to it. Thanks OP

Sounds good, I hope we come out with something like road wars, as opposed to say cops in the US. Road wars is funny, the cops seem cool, the voice over guy is perfect, and there are some funny moments.

I really hope the same will be said for this documentary over here. Best of luck too all involved! I will be waiting for the first broadcast! :pac:

Anyone remember "Recruits", i think it was called? Made in the early 90's about the, then, new training system that was the envy of international police forces.
A "warts'n'all";) documentary about the new, young Gardai who could do joined-up writing, read without mouthing the words and went home after spending every shift visiting an old-folks home to read bedtime stories to their little brothers.

I hope this new effort isn't so cringeworthy.

That's odd, considering that there audience is there now and higher than expected. Maybe they should do a documentary on the marketing dept in RTE. :D

Sorry, just a bit angry I'll have to wait so long!

Well done. Ah... the jaunty angle of the hat.
The provos cut off one of Shergars legs and sent it to the owners with a note saying "give us £500,000 or this horse will never run again".

All the episodes are available to watch in the library in Templemore. I
vaguely remember watching it as a kid and I had my self convinced that
it would great stuff altogether! Well after watching some of it the other day
I can safely say they might as well have shown a picture of a block of cheddar for an hour:D
