I have lived in the canary Islands alot further south than Maderia island for winter months and even there there they get bad weatrher sometimes in winter

I saw a whole month of November it rained nearly every day in teneriffe

Until you go the equator you can never be absolutly sure to get good hot sunny weather in winter

The other cape verde I think ex Portugese islands to the south of Canaries are safer bet for good weather but there is no direct flight I know of and its expensive to get there

If your not pushed about the weather then if Maderia is anything like Portugal where I lived also it will be nice place as its part of the Portugal set up

Thats why lots opt to go to Florida in winter months as its a safer bet for weather if a Hurricane doesn't hit you and the region is so big big big the risk to hit your sector of Florida is low

    also some opt for Gambia

for budget reasons some opt to take the risk and do Morroco but it can freeze at night time in the winter and sometimes get bad weater in the winter
