Clane to Sallins road

Can someone please explain to me why the main Clane to Sallins road is 60km/h the whole way into Sallins...? Seems a bit excessive to me for such a decent road, especially seeing as how the bog road I use to get home to Kilmeague, which is essentially a tarmaced dirt track, is 80km/h!!!
