How should i dispose of old Laptop battery?

Folks, I have an old Dell Inspiron laptop battery with its various recycle symbols on it and warnings not to put it in landfill, whats the best way to dispose of it? I don't recall seeing a recycle facility for this at my local authority recycling point?

Contact Dell themselves, they should know of a recycling scheme. There is also this crowd here that take in batteries of all sorts, perhaps if you could contact them and ask where they would have a pick up point.http://www.returnbatt.ie/

Many mobile phone and PC repair shops would collect their duds and have to dispose of them, I am sure if you approached them nicely they could take it from you .
