Will sub notebooks like the EEEPC kill off the net cafés as we know them?.

I was in town to day and was amazed at the free WIFI coverage with the Asus EEE PC, from Mc Donald’s on Grafton st right down to the Tax Office off O Connell St I was able to get on line no probs without paying a cent and browse discreetly, I can see these dropping in price to below the e200 mark in the near future and becoming as common as the mobile phone to those that regularly go on line.

When I travel abroad I could spend up to e10 a day in net cafes, I despise these places in central London, they can be over crowded, the equipment is often neglected, filthy and full of viruses, (Anyone who has used Easynet can tell you) you then have to look over your shoulder to watch your belongings, pockets etc and of course the temperature of these places can be unbearable with the heat of up to 50 PCs going at the one time.

The next time I would just bring one of these things and find a local hot spot in a hotel lobby or coffee shop or quite corner in a pub and do my business.
