2nd year free laptops

    Hey i was just wondering about the free laptops we get in secon year any ideas on the specs.


    Sorry this is for the bsc it students

    They are pretty old so don't expect nice specs. I'd advise wiping it straight away and install a Linux distro like Ubuntu. When we got our laptops they hadn't been wiped, in fact, when I booted mine up for the first time I was automatically logged into the account of the person who had it previously and had all of his previous data and msn contacts etc.

    The batteries may be crap, ie not hold a charge but just get in contact with the admin guys upstairs and they'll order new ones for ya.

    The I.T. department. No they are only for BSc. I.T. students.
