This may have been mentioned before but there is a programme on TG4 called Siar sna 60s, it's like Reeling in the Years but only in the 60s so far there has been loads of shots of Dublin with all manner of now classics driving around (not a ZV plate in sight :))

Also the other night RTE had a programme called disasters and it focussed on the fire in the Noyeks building and some cars that you'd love to have survived incl a 64 Spitfire YZE 559

    Regards
    Darren

There is also a programme about irish murders and how they were solved.
They showed a reconstruction of one in kildare from the seventies showing an mgb and a datsun 120 Y, both on irish plates but the 120 Y was featuring black mirrors on the front wings. Strangely enough there was also a Wolseley 1500 police car... which definitely wasnt around in the late 70s.

I think that was a 100A not a 120Y,if its the same programme were talking about, was it a yellow one?If it was a guy from the north owns it,i was talking to him on a datsun forum one night,he wasnt too happy with the way RTE treated his car!!The plates were fakes, and some of the other cars had english registrations if you looked closely!!

yes, it was yellow. So all the cars had fake plates? As for the Wolseley 1500garda car, well that was a first.

    Its a 77 cherry
Not sure if the the other cars had fake plates...but the 1500 was pushing it a bit alright!!

That Datsun looks to be in great nick!

As a matter or interest...what way did RTE treat his car that annoyed him? I suppose with such a rare low-mileage car he'd have wanted it to be treated with kid gloves!

Yes,its a minter alright id say,in much better shape than mine i would think.
He said they were being a bit heavy handed,it had to be put down an embankment for the programme,i dont think any of us would like our cars having that done to them, low mileage or not!!

heist - I think its called - featured the 74 and 86 Rossborough Art thefts.

For 74, a ZV reg Zodiac Mk3 Farnham estate is used as the gettaway car.
Somehow a Mark 2 Granada Garda car is also shown.... was the later 77-85 shape. Also showed archive footage of glandore, co cork featuring an XZB morris minor and a vauxhall victor garda car.
the reconstuction appears to show the actual morris minor car.

The actual getaway car was a MK2 Cortina, I wonder when that program was filmed as I'm sure that Zodiac is red with a white roof now and has been for a few years.
