    A mate just broke the headstock on his gibson sg... a bit of a sickener. :(
    I reckon it can repaired as its just the head stock. It broke just between the machine heads and the nut, pretty much straight thru, just the black veneer it keeping it together...
    Any hope for it?

    It's a lot more common than you think. Derrick Nelson must've recapitated hundreds of Gibsons at this stage, he's the man for this. Get your mate to call him.

    Yeah, thats a common enough mishap and any luthier worth his salt will have repaired a good few Gibson headstocks.

    Derrick's number is in the resources sticky. It won't be cheap, but it'll look as good as new, and the repair will be spot on.

    i had eugene of guitarworkshop fix a broken headstock for me, wprks perfect now. you wouldn't notice (unless you were specifically looking for it!)
