Theres a wierd tweeting sound cominh from my new gretsch amp, any ideas on what it is?

dodgy valve i'd say,sounds like it's gone microphonic
do you have another 12ax7 to swap in?

Makes sence, it was a floor model... Haven't got any tubes, don't know much about it really. Was gonna get a speaker/valve kit from watford music anyway, have to wait to get paid booooooooooooooooooooooooo :pac:

huge difference in the bass available,beautiful cleans now
i use a keeley ts-9 to give it a kick up the arse and i get great tones at house volume,which is the whole reason i bought it

I've been wanting a cleaner brighter sound out of it so hopefully this will be what im looking for.

I meant to ask you, you said you were using an ext cab with the amp, where is the input for the speaker?

yeah i'll run it through my orange or vox cab the odd time
i just disconnect the internal speaker,and use the same jack to run a speaker cable to a cab
just watch for ohm's mismatches
