CD WOW changing their prices

    Hello,

I know I haven't lost my mind but overnight, CD WOW put up the prices on a number of games.

Yesterday, Devil May Cry 4 was ~€22 and is now €27.

Bioshock in the Tin Case was ~€26 and is now €31.

Guitar Hero: Aerosmith is now €62 while just a day ago, was cheaper (I can't remember the old price). Same with Battlefield: Bad Company.

GRAW and PES6 were ~€9.99 and ~€8.99 respectively and are now €11.99 and €10.99.

I know that there was a three hour sale with €1 off on CD WOW yesterday, but it I'm sure that the old prices I've mentioned are the ones before and just after that sale. How can they do this? Okay, fair enough, GRAW and PES went up by €2 but others went up by more. I also think that there are a few other games that were hit, too.

You are aware that they can charge you a billion euro for the game if they felt like it, right? There is no law written saying that they can't raise their prices after a sale or anything like that, if you don't like it vote with your feet.

I'm very confused - you don't realise shops change their prices?

avoid cdwow just like i do. they change their prices all the time, i've even noticed that they increase their prices and then apply a discount on the item., meaning that even with the discount the price is still the same or higher!! i no longer buy products cdwow because of this practice!

I don't get it either, if they lowered them would you be moaning? CDWOW are well known for changing prices, you (OP) even mentioned their 3 hour sales etc.

If it doesnt seem good value then do not buy it, simple as that, doesnt matter how much they claim is off it.

I know here there is some law about prices being one price for a period of time before you can claim there is a reduction, dunno about online.

I just shop around... If play.com said the cd I wanted was reduced 1billion to €10, and cd wow had it at €11 I would go with play. Marketing like that certainly does not upset me, I take if for granted they are using scams like this. Many furniture shops in town have permanent sales on.

And i cant understand how long it takes a delivery from them to arrive. any game i have ordered online from gameplay.co.uk have arrived within 4 days.

I though i would try out CD wow when i was ordering Super Smash Bros for the wii, i ordered it on the 11 july and there's still no sign of it

When you ask for a refund, it should be processed straight away, then take just a few days to show on your card. If they don't comply, ring the bank and ask about a chargeback for non-receipt (or even shipping) of goods.

I've stopped using CDWow completely, too much of this crap on my last few orders. Nothing in stock, weeks of delays with no communications, and then delays in refund too. They were once great, but not anymore.
