    Hi,
I am thinking of replacing my current car with a saab. I really like the 9-3 and could pick up a 2004 for about 15k. I have read a few websites and they all say go for low mileage (<75k), full service history, etc. Any opinions on this car here? I know electrics can be a bit dodgy but generally are they good mechanically? Just would like to know if people think its a reasonable punt.
    Thanks

I was looking at maybe getting a 9-5 which uses the same engines. There is a problem with oil separating in the petrol engines. Its caused by high sulpher content in petrol. Consequently they require 5000mile oil changes with the oil extracted out of the sump and not sucked out the dipstick pipe. Also Ireland has lower sulpher petrol in comparison to the UK so I would go for an Irish car.

I think they are still a pretty reliable car tho and there are plenty of them with big miles covered.
