Would I be right in saying that will decode Mpeg 4 transmissions?

    Maybe not.

The MPEG4 it's talking about is probably Xvid/DivX etc playback from memory card.

If I had 85 Euro to waste I could test it as I have an MPEG4/DVB-t transmitter. Though I have no MHEG5 to test interactive/EPG compatibility.

    Interesting alright watty!

Although by the look of it you can't get them anymore £59.99 sterling is steep for a standard STB so maybe it can! I'll get looking I'm sure one will pop up on eBay! Some nice features on it all the same. If I find one I'll let you know.

Not steep for a wannabee media centre. A decent one would have HDD, ethernet and USB port.

I'd avoid it. I have Dunnes 99 Euro DVD recorder on My Sky Box, it has USB and the USB works with a 2 Euro SD card reader to play MPEG4/DivX/Xvid.

It also has 5.1 decoder and the 6 audio outs to drive amps.

It has a tuner, but only Analogue. The original German price was 300 Euro. It's cheap because it's only Analogue in.

It'll be a brick on 31 July 08 as the tuner goes. MPEG2 tuner. As watty advised MPEG 4 is referring to the Media it can play (ie divx). They were selling them in Maplin UK for STG 23 eralier in the year. A cheap multimedia player, not a dvbt mpeg4 receiver..

Presume you have a licence for that tx. :)

You don't need a licence for a signal on a cable.

But yes in a manner of speaking, I do. Several different kinds.
