Is the pick up from a retailer or an individual?

I have used http://www.interparcel.com/ to pick stuff up from private individual. You book it and put the sellers address as the collection point and your address as the destination address.

You do need the co-operation of the seller to package it up correctly and to await collection. See the thread on Money Saving Expert for a list of couriers.
