Old news for a lot of people I'd say ,but I can't believe I've not heard of this movie before now. Lately I've lost interest in the whole movie making scenario ,but after watching this I've got some faith back.

Is this just shane meadows at his best or are there any other directors like him. Gaspar noe comes to mind ,anyone any thoughts ?

An absolutely amazing film.. and I'd say it's Shane Meadows at his best.

'This Is England' was very good, but 'Dead Mans Shoes' is something really really special. While 'This Is England' simply reminded me of a couple of films plotlines blended together, albeit very effectively and a very good watch.

Yeah its a superb film. Room for Romeo Brass is also quite good. Shane Meadows and Paddy considine once again, Paddy's first film I believe.

Yup fantastic film, thread seems to pop up every month or so as new people discover it! Great though, as it really is a very low scale but effective, disturbing and fresh thriller with a great lead performance. Shane Meadows is just a great director, and think his new film was playing in the IFI this week for one showing: would've liked to get to see it.

I still have to watch room for romeo brass and 24/7 ,which I ordered with dead mans shoes. For some reason ,This is England didn't strike me as the hit it was made out to be. But after seeing dead mans shoes ,I can see why people would have been looking forward to it.

I've read about the new movie in the papers of a black and white movie meadows has done ,with little thomas turgoose from this is england.
