I'm moving my joomla site from the virtual server on my mac to a linux server. the configuration.php file from the joomla instalation on my mac is different to PC based installations so do i need to re-write it for the move to the linux server?

Can you not just set up a fresh install on the new server, take a dump from the db and load it into the new one. Then just copy your template across?

The new install should re-create the configuration.php, I imagine.

But an answer to your question... no i haven't done this
