Have posted this in Dublin city forum, but it struck me that it might be better here! Going to a wedding soon, and trying to find a nice dress...but to no avail! Have tried BT, Pamela Scott, everywhere in jervis and Henry St, but can't finda thing! Does anyone know of a shop that specialises ONLY in this area? Thanks!

    Hi

Have you tried that place' Julian' in stephens green? My friend got a lovely dress there a while back.

Is that in the shopping centre? I think I might know it...I haven't checked it out though, so will do! Thanks for that!

Yep, its upstairs on the corner when you go up the elevator I think. The staff there are lovely, if you ask them they'll pick out a few things and give yuo an honest opinion on them. I think they have bags an that in there too.

this shop is tack central, you would to be careful not to stand near a naked flame when wearing their dress.

try the design centre in powerscourt town house or the little black dress shop in there

tbh i would say that about most shops in dublin, you just got to be lucky. i mean monsoon is horredous but occassional you will find something nice.

youve probably tried them already, but usually theres some nice stuff in coast, monsoon, debenhams. only problem is the risk that someone else will have the same thing.

Richard Alan on Grafton Street have a huge selection of stuff. I got my dress for my 21st in there, they really have some beautiful stuff. The 1st floor is dedicated to evening wear, loads to choose from. :)

one answer for that COAST. it's on the top of grafton st around the corner on the left when you walking up it. it's got amazing stuff. am hoping to get something nice there for my 30th next year and my graduation. i just love the shop to bits.

If you have some time on your hands TK Maxx can sometimes have nice dresses, you just have to dig through a lot of dross to find them.

Try Costume, Chica and Elliot Chambers http://www.elliottchambers.ie/.

Karen Millen on Grafton St perhaps.

Kilkenny? I got a lovely daytime cocktail dress there recently.

Ok I've tried Richard Alan (all the nice dresses are ballgowns), Coast (crappy shop-tiny with no selection), Karen Millen (crap selection), TK Maxx, Debenhams...Julian actually does have some nice stuff but not exactly what I'm looking for- the problem seems to be most dresses are strapless, and I'd rather something with straps.

Phythia, whereabouts are Costume, Chica and Elliot Chambers?

The only other places I can think of are Arnotts and Cleary's, and if I don't find anything there, I'm fooked :(

Try the westbury shopping mall as well, some lovely boutiques. If you go down the little laneway opposite a wear on grafton st you'll come out at the french connection entrance to powerscourt centre. Lara on dame lane and cara by the grafton arcade are nice too.

rococco in the westbury mall has some gorgeous dresses, lil bit pricey though. dont rule out trying somewhere like oasis or river island, they do occassionally have some lovely dresses

Powerscourt is on South William St, opposite where Bruce College used to be. Walk through George's St arcade from the George's St entrance and when you come out, walk straght on until you can't walk no more! Only takes a few seconds. Then look to your left and you'll see the steps of Powerscourt.

Or buy a map if this doesn't help!

Costume is near the George's St Arcade, the Grafton St side, sorry, not sure of the street name. Chica is in the Westbury Mall. Elliot Chambers is in Goatstown in South Dublin.
