Missing colour drivers:C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\color

    Help!

I have a new computer which is used exclusively for image editing.

I have installed Photoshop CS3 and a few other programs on it relating to photography.

The problem I have is that in C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\color loads of colour drivers are missing! Very, very strange!

e.g. There is no Adobe 1998 driver - for me that's the most important one.

Oddly, in Photoshop I have Adoble 1998 selected in preferences. But, is it really?

On the other hand, I installed Hasselblad's Flexcolor software and I can't select Adobe 1998 in its preferences. Presumably, because it isn't present in the colour drivers folders.

Either way, how can I recover all those missing drivers? And, any idea how they went missing in the first place?

    Thanks.

    D.

I would imagine just reinstalling the programs shoudl sort it out.

    Thanks.

I suspect that it may have something to do with where Photoshop CS3 installs colour drivers on a 64bit machine.

I was able to select Adobe 1998 in CS3's colour preferences even though it's not in C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\color. So, it must be finding it somewhere! :(

Been onto DELL and they're looking into it. Posted on Adobe forums too.

I want to avoid reinstalling CS3 if I can because the registration process is a pain.

    a 1998 driver on a 64-bit platform? Bit of a stretch no?
