Is there anyone else out there that finds the cooling fan very loud and irritating? It reminds me of a mosquito in the room and the pitch varies when its moved about. Im not sure if its a faulty fan or is this the same with all of them? BTW its the 901 model. Other than this i am very impressed with the machine.

Get EEE Ctl. You can manually control the fan with that bit of software. You can then see if it powers up to 100% without issue, and control the fan.

    Where'd you get a 901 from?

Did you try running that little program? It's quite handy, it'll give you a read out of the temp, and you can adjust the screen brightness to double it's normal brightness, aswell as giving you control over the fan.
