Digital CATV patch panel

Hiya, I've installed a 4-way LMB on my dish, all connection working fine. I've dropped digital cables to f-connector output points in rooms throughout the house and I now want to wire the inputs (4 LMB inputs and a UHF antenna) into a patch panel (preferably 19" panel, so it fits in the rack I've used for the housewide ethernet) so I can patch them to each room as required.

Does anyone know of a supplier that can provide an f-connector patch panel? I guess an 8-port would suffice for now, because the plan is to put a media PC into the mix at later stage and replace the f-connectors with Cat5e or 6. Thanks for any advice!

    http://www.hm-sat-shop.de/multischalter-profiline/

i got the 9 in 16 out, yet to be installed.
but it will work with a Quad or a Quattro

Generally the german sites are a lot cheaper for sat gear

I looked around the site and found a bunch of stuff I'll definitely be buying, thanks again.

However, I can't find the patch panel I'm looking for. I'll try to describe it. This rack is a 19 inch-wide cabinet. I have two 24-port network patch panels that link services (storage, voip, internet) to rooms in the house (i.e., each room has a phone and internet).

I want to get a two similar 19" wide patch panels, but instead of network connections on it, I want 8 female f-connectors. My plan is this..

Connect the 4 inbound satellite cables and the UHF antenna cables to the rear of one of the 8-port panels (labelled SAT 1, SAT 2, SAT 3, SAT 4, UHF 1, 2, 3 and 4).

Connect each of the rooms to the rear of the second 8-port panel (labelled MASTER BED, KIDS ROOM, SPARE ROOM, OFFICE etc).

Using double male f-connector terminated cables (about 10cm in length), link say a satellite input to a room output (i.e., SAT 1 to OFFICE). This would allow me to dynamically patch any inbound signal to any room.

The thing is, I have a 19" wide rack which is a standard in the IT business, and what I'm looking for is a modular unit that will take F-connectors in a 19" format that I can mount into the same cabinet.

    Clear as mud, huh? :-)

make your own? given how easy it is to get all types of f connectors, all you really need is the metal and a drill...

An EMP-Centauri 16 way multiswitch fits nice in a 19" rack.

I'd use the F-barrels on a panel, then screw coaxs with crimped F-plugs to rear and then use crimped patch cords on front.

A pre drilled blank for BNCs or Jack sockets might have correct size holes.

Thanks guys. I might look at making my own, though my metal working skills are rusty (okay, that pun was intended!).

    Thanks for the pointers.

    Hi Guys,

Sorry to resurrect a very old thread but any resolution to this?

I can find a few 19" 24 port f-type connections all right but I'm not sure if they're isolated from each other. Stupid question but for the likes of redeye and passing power from the sky box etc I'm guessing they'd need to be isolated.
