What wesbite are you looking at? The PZ800 is 1199 on richersounds.com excluding the 5 year warranty. So yes, I'd say it a good choice and good price.

Sorry the prices i quoted were ex vat as i can get it taken off.

Just lookin to get the best 42inch plasma price isn't too much of an issue. As long as it's good for sports ( this is a must as i dont like sports on lcd and heard plasmas a better) and movies and SD TV Skyplus and ps3. Viewing distance of 6-8 feet.

I think i read somewhere that these pretty much match the kuro. Would that be right? Would kuro be much better?

Kuro would wipe the floor with it, no doubt about it.

It may, but its not twice as good for twice the price. The 80 series Panasonics come very close to to last yrs Kuro's performance.

In my opinion it's twice as good, and sorry but the 80 Series Panasonics don't get anywhere near the picture quality of a 8G Kuro, not even in the same league. The Panasonics are toys incomparision.

Agreed The Panas are excellent - but really in the same league as the top end Sony/Philips etc

The new Pioneer Kuro is just in a different league and they don't suffer comparison - they are however seriously more expensive! and they now only start at 50" - (there is 32/37" coming next month) there is no 42" planned until 2009.

The cheapest Kuro 9 series 50" is about £2100

We have just put the new 60" on display in Belfast and ...

    Seeing is believing!

I need one myself but even with staff discount I just cannot afford it

    :(

Bought the 4280 my self and I have to say forget all that 1080p nonsence (unless you want to use it as a monitor) and you will own a fab tv. Can't believe how good upscaled DVD's look on it. again as i said if you are only planning on using it for Blue Ray,DVD SKY Hd use I don't think you will buy a better 42" presently.

Alliance in Late Feb for €1950
But i sold the free DVD cinema for €260

so worked out about €1690 cost to me.

Fine telly Sky Plus look great on it too.

where did that last guy order his from.

I got an New onkyo from John Mc at richersounds and it arrived next day. (Quickest deliver ever) So I would recommend them as well if they have the 4280 in stock.

Hey guys TV just arrived today just unpacking it and you won't believe it. There is no stand. Now i bought what was described as old stock and that the box was tatty. Nothing mentioned about it not including the stand. i'm raging. I'm getting on to them but i don't suppose there is anyone out there not using their stand and would be willing to part with it? Thanks in advance.
