Any recommendations? I'm a mid teens h'cap woman looking to improve my short play. My exisiting irons are Mcgregors - probably due for a change but not this season so am just looking for a stop gap lob wedge.

titleist spin milled, callaway x, taylor made TP. can't go wrong with any of them imo.
    cleveland also have a following.

Main thing is to pick one that suits your eye behind the ball and then practise a lot with it once you get it.

Vokey spin-milled don't start to 54 degrees. A gap wedge would generally be a 52 degree.

Regardless though, they are a great club.

Haha - that was funny :)
    a stop gap lob wedge.

I think if you are looking to get the benefit of spin-milled face, that is you want to get the ball to stop quickly/spin backwards, you should get the ball to accompany it. Pro-V1s or some soft balata type ball work best.

clue is in the title, and is looking for a lob wedge as a 'stop gap' until changing whole set next year.

    Stop´-gap`
    n. 1. That which closes or fills up an opening or gap; hence, a temporary expedient.

I'm thinking of upgrading my lob wedge also. On McGuirks site the vokeys seem to be down to €105. Is there any chance these wedges will be non-conforming soon? It was mentioned on another thread about the R&A rules guy talking on the BBC about an announcement/ruling on wedges in the next few weeks. Is it a risky time to buy a new wedge???

I posted thqat Adiaga, but feel it will likely be an announcement of a change coming
in 2-3 years. So would prob have worn out grooves by then anyhow. However maybe wait the 2-3 weeks that was mentioned?

    Feck.

I'm in the market to get both a 54 and 60 and the Titleist do seem best.

Taylor Made Z Groves do look unbelievably nice behind the ball though.

I've got the 54o and 60o Cleveland wedges and find them weighted brilliantly, I have tried the spin-milled too which are excellent.
