My bro has never had a job and is looking for some help with his CV. He is in college at the mo but has no experience even though he is brilliant at computers and has built pcs for all of the family. Any idea how I could word this problem in a cv? Should I even have a title EMPLOYMENT HISTORY?

What kind of job is he looking for?

A cover letter might be more suitable than a CV...

Well it wasn't official "employment" in the sense of the word so I wouldn't recommend claiming so. What type of work is he looking for? If he's young and it's just part-time student work, a lot of shops/pubs/etc won't expect him to have an employment history. You have to start somewhere after all !

He is pretty much looking for whatever he can get! Hopefully something to do with computers.

Just put down Tesco or something, no place is gonna ask for a reference from Tesco and it shows he has worked.

I worked in Tesco in my teenage years and the management turnover is so high that nobody would know me if I went down there and I'd hard pressed to get any sort of a reference from them. Infact after I left, I went back over cristmas just 7 months later and there was a totally different management staff there.

Its only a white lie really as any moron can get a job in Tesco (no offence, but it is equal opportunities and you meet some nutters there) and if I was looking at a CV of a 20 something year old with NO employment history at all I wouldnt look twice at it unless I was employing for a really menial bottom rung job.. and even then...

... and even then, it's summer time, with loads of experienced students suddenly looking for work. You need an edge, and being an unemployed bum ain't an edge:P
