nothing is going to happen from the gards end of thinsg if I read it right.

    You got a warning
As for the phone.. is there an ICE number on it?

Ring a number on the phone, like "mum" for example, and try and get the phone back to the person.
"Sorry, I have the same model, must have picked up your by accident."
"Sorry Mr. Officer, Won't happen again."
And go on about your day.
And have a wee bit of a more responsible attitude to the oul uisce beatha in future and lesson learned young fella.

If they said there won't be a summons, then there won't be a summons.

You didn't even get a caution it seems like to me.

Looks like they just left you in a cell to sober up, and let you go when you were in a fit state tbh.

Scared the living shíte out of you though, didn't it?

That was the reason, so you don't act the plank again.

i'd put money on it that as long as you don't do something stupid it won't be brought up again. As regards the phone you found, there's always numbers like "mam" or "home", ring them, give it back.

Just ring a number on the phone, someone will arrange to meet you to pick it up, no one likes losing their phone.

The gaurds are dropping it, don't let it worry you just don't do it again ;)

If the phone was taken off you, the guards will get it back to whoever owns it. They aren't interested in pressing charges. Trust me, you'd know if they were

Just so you don't get any more responses on what to do with the phone :)

Don't worry about it, you got off easy and just don't act up like that in the future. You're almost 18, next time you could find yourself charged and left in a situation where you've to try to explain to employers why you've a criminal record for theft.

so would i be right in saying this wont go on my record they took pictures of me etc?

And to think, people are actually against the Intoxicating Liquor Act.

Dont worry about it, you're fine. Just never let it happen again. It will go on your record, but it wont have any impact at all on your future. If you were over eighteen and it happened, then there could be trouble - but you should forget about it now as its most likely over with.

That will be in and they won't pursue it although maybe cut back on the booze if you are not able to contol yourself on it.

Having re-read your original post and subsequent "explanation" approximately ten times I still have absolutely no idea what you're reference is to the phone. Did they give you the wrong phone back? I honestly have no idea what you're talking about OP.

regretingitall, it is still possible for them to prosecute. Certainly with traffic offences, its quite common for them to not say anything about a prosecution, only for a ticket or summons to show up months later.

Keep your nose clean. You might also look up information on alcohol so that you can drink safely.

Can the Garda take pictures of your if you pulled into the station? Where are these photos kept? Who has access to them? Can they be used against you at a later date?

    I don't think this is legal.....something sounds funny...

OP what kind of camera did they use? Why was it necessary to take photos in this situation? I'm not happy they took photos of you? What were you doing at the time?

    And what's the etc?

they most likely took you in for your own protection

if you were drunk and looked vulnerable they often
take you in just to get you off the street.

ask them are you on pulse

the arrest may not even be recorded.

but if it does happen again, it will be recorded

if you were in a right state coming in
they may have taken photoes to prove that they didnt
    mess you up

    were you roughed up looking

call in and apologise and say thanks for taking you off the streets
and see if they are going to press charges.

Yeah, I'd say since what happened to Brian Rossiter the guards are paranoid about taking photos of people before and after they enter the station. Regarding your offence, a lot of my friends (who are decent blokes) have been arrested for being idiots. I wouldnt be worried about this at all. I would agree with the above, go in an apologise to the guards involved and ask them what is the story. They would respect your willingness to accept responsibility for your actions.

As was said above with the phone, ring a number on the phone and get it back to the person. If you were a thief, you obviously wouldnt be doing this, so they will think that you genuinely picked it up by accident.
