Cant find BBC3 BBC4

    hi,

    just had freesat installed today. ive been browsing the channel list on the sat box but for the life of me i cant find BBC3 or 4. what channel no should they be on? got BBC 1 and 2
    channel 4 is on no. 98 on sat box.

    BBC3,4 on air at 7pm.

    but should the channel not appear on the channel list that on my satellite box?

    No. Is this a branded "Freesat" box or what?

    The channel that is currently CBBC will turn into BBC Three at 7pm, likewise CBeebies and BBC Four.

    It will appear with the name BBC3/BBC4 if you rescan after 7pm.

    It can depend on the box. Technomate boxes amongst others will scan in BBC 3 and 4 before 7pm, but others don't.

    ok well we got bbc 3 without a rescan. it was there all along, thought it was a test channel because of the title displayed. our box is Morgans so its some sort of generic one.

    the instructions for set top box are in german. if i rescan will i loose the favourites list and all our stored settings?

    It's unlikely that you'd loose your favs/settings from a rescan (a function like "restore default" or similar probably would though).

    It might be possible to do a quick transponder (TP) search for whatever channels you want to add. Find them here http://www.flysat.com/28east.php , and the transponder frequency is listed in the second column, eg, the first TP on that page is "10714 H", and you may need one or both numbers the next column also (depending on your STB - I'm not familiar with Morgans), which is "22000" and "5/6".

    As long as your menus aren't German, you should be able to find the TP scan if it's possible.

    thanks everybody did a rescan there and got bbc 4. only thing now is channel 4 has changed to a number. but thats ok. the bbc HD channel seems to cause the STB to freeze so i might have to delete that channel. but we mostly use the favourites button anyways.
