    Hi,
Yesterday i sold a pair of speakers and i received payment through Paypal, this is not an Ebay purchase. So this morning i was doing a bit of shopping on ebay but when i went to pay it said there was a restriction on my accont that needed resolving.
So i check my Paypal and it seems because i received over a certain amount i have to send in ID and Proof of address.****in hell these crowd want updates, account upgrades, your deepest darkest secrets, i dont know how many times i have had to do it.
Anyway..........so i tried to upload scans of required ID and their site keeps crashing so i cannot upload. So i went into town this morning and faxed the info.It says i will get a confirmation email when the fax enters the system but as of yet i have nothing notifying me.So anyone had to do this and how long am i likely to be waiting?
Its a pain in the arse because they want the issues resolved quickly ,apoligies and all that crap but their website is incapable of taking the required file uploads.

Hmmm well i called Paypal and i spoke to a very nice gentleman that informed me not to worry that it may take up to 24hrs to process and then possibly another 3 working days to process.Fair enough i thought, at least the ball is rolling. So i checked my account there and its fully restored again!

That was quick , i went from cursing and blinding the company to be gobsmacked at such a quick turnaround and quite pleased the way the telephone call was conducted.

So i guess for all the Paypal sucks threads you read about there are plenty of people that get great service that don't do a write up.

Neeway, i had planned to shut my account, don't think il bother now.

This verification is nothing o do with Paypal wither, it's an EU, anti-money laundering law, which all money brokers have to comply with.

Yeah i saw that alright but the whole procedure had to be done through Paypal.

The annoying thing is now the shop i was buying from has opened a dispute on Ebay, i have emailed them explaining the situation and that it has been resolved and i can now pay.I await the reply but i will say i am miffed as i have spent close to a grand in this sellers shop this year and he fobs me off straight away despite the fact i gave him a full update.

Seriously thinking about not paying and taking the negative feedback. All the money i have given and im knocked off so quickly.

I got an email from paypal telling me that they had reason to believe my account was accessed by a third party! They said my account was now limited until I could upload proof of address and photo ID. I was really suspicious of this request, as identity theft is rife on the internet. I suppose I have to do it though. Still, I don't like the thought of my personal info being 'out there' in cyberspace. Surely the servers containing all that info will be goldmines from criminals now...
