took the eldest(shes 9) out shooting for first time on thurs, got 2 bunnies, she loved. pestered me all weekend to go again, so went out last night again. shot one at about 30 yards but it was still kicking, she got to it before the dog, not a bother on her.
she wants to go shooting grey squirrells now cos teacher in school told them how bad they are for reds. and as soon as dark nights are here she wants to see the lurchers lamping. im chuffed. she reckons hunting is in her blood, her words. as soon as her legs are able she'll be out after the hounds.

    Good stuff..........get 'em young.

I remember bringing my little girl many moons ago. Gave her a shot out of the shotgun at an old bucket. I took most of the kickback so as not to hurt her shoulder. Just as she pulled the trigger a pigeon flew by in the sky, nowhere near where she was aiming, but to this day she reckons she "nearly" got a bird!:D

That was about 12 years ago and she still remembers it vividly.

whitser, hope your lot keep the interest

Lads just wondering where we stand and if caution should be shown on mentioning kids shooting (big brother) or if its possible for a locked thread for registered shooting members with a certian no. of posts . Just an idea , putting it out there.

Ordered my oldest son ( 5 tomorrow ) his birthday present from Clarkes in Navan yesterday. A pair of Aigle wellies, he doesn't want to be seen around the fields in his red baby wellies ( his words ) anymore...:D.

Unfortunatly the daughter who's a year older has no interest at all and the other lad is still a bit young at three years of age.

    Next generation or what ?
