So, i'll be returning to Ireland at the end of September and i'm looking for advice on jobs!!

Firstly, i've heard about unemployment rising and the recession etc, but how likely is it to have problems finding a job? I've never had a problem before, waiting only weeks to find new employment.

My experience lies in sales/admin/customer service etc... But tbh i really want to get away from this kind of stuff.

I'd like to find work that involves physical labour. Maybe construction? What kind of money do labourers get paid these days and is it likely to get employment with no experience barr factory work in my teens? (will be 25 when i get back).

Other than that, any job that isn't in the confines of an office that pays well would be nice, any tips?

first bit of info for you - construction industry on a massive downturn at the moment :-(

as you might guess there is always sales work available no matter what the economic climate...as for other roles it may well be worth checking out Fas website to give you an idea on the types of jobs currently around.

Of course if you are based in a major town/city then lots more options for you - just bear in mind it may be a lot more difficult than you think getting something outside of your experience that pays relatively well at the moment (as you would be competing with lots more people job hunting with relevant skills for these positions)

    best of luck!!!

you'd pick up a sales job handy enough

construction is pretty much out the window

there isn't really all that much of a problem outside of construction.

e.g. have a read of this report from Friday: http://www.rte.ie/business/2008/0718/fas.html

there are still going to be jobs created in the next year, just not in construction

September is a good time, as all the students will be going back to school. Try offices that usually have students, so that when they go, there's a vacuum. Also try "lecreme". Mate had good experience temping with them.
