Which large capacity MP3 player should I choose?

My Creative Zen V 4GB is full so I'm looking for something with more capacity, at least 32GB. I use the player mainly for playing music through the car stereo. I like to add lots of songs in my playlists and I'm missing the possibility to sort songs in playlists.

I'm looking for a player to do the same as the Zen V, with the added bonus of being able to play videos.

    My contenders so far:

    Creative Zen 32GB
    Pros:
I can use my existing car kit?
    Expandable
    Flash
    Letter navigation makes browsing easy
    Can use existing charger?
    Long lasting batteries

    Cons:
    Only 32GB
    Expensive per GB
Same software as for Zen V?
I still won't be able to sort my songs?
    No games

    Apple iPod Classic
    Pros:
    Can synchronize playlists from iTunes
    Best price per GB
Can get 160GB for just a little more that the price of a Creative Zen 32GB
    Games

    Cons:
Song bought on HMV online not accepted by iTunes
Any other files than MP3 must be converted, requiring extra harddisk space
    Probably need new car kit
    Harddisk based
Have to buy a charger (or is one included?)

    Archos 605 WiFi
    Pros:
    Best resolution
    Biggest screen
Can also be used as a PDA?
    Can view PDFs
    Games

    Cons:
    Too big/heavy?
    Harddisk based
A lot expensive per GB than the iPod
Have to pay extra for certain features
Battery life not among the best
    Have to buy a charger

Are there any other pros and cons I should be aware of?

What do you think of these three? Are there any other players I should consider?

    How's the Archos software?

Zune might be an option. Does anyone know when it will arrive in Ireland, and at what price?

iPod Touch might be another contender. Fairly expensive and only max. 32GB but seems to do everything well.

I think I've discarded the Archos based on battery life, plus it doesn't seem to be easy to make playlists for it.

Just ordered the 605. I'll let you know how i get on! And i wouldn't worry too much about the players being HD based, modern players will last years, well, provided you dont go throwing it around the place, and you pay through the nose for ssd's these days, although, that is changing.
But seeing that you want something similar to the zen you currently have, i'd be thinking the archos may be a bit of a jump in size. I believe the the ZEN 32GB has an sd card slot? so that's a further 16GB you can add on for about 50 60 quid.

    Thanks for your feedback.

I've actually decided to go for an iPod Touch. It seems like a great device that's more user friendly that the Creative Zen and has a great screen for videos as well, beating the iPod Classic in this category.

That's a good price, you will pay that for the 16GB one in the shops

I got the 16GB for 300 inc. delivery off eBay :)
