    Hi Folks,

I'm up at NUIM for a few days this week at a course. Is the parking on the north campus available to random-joe, or do you need a permit to park there? Also, as i never drive in the mornings I've no idea how much time to budget for getting there via the m50/m4 from Dundrum.. Anyone any idea how much time I should plan to have if i've to be there for 9am?

    :)

    Cheers!

I do the opposite journey in the mornings and it generally takes about 30-40 minutes but not sure if that is any help. If you're doing any course you should be allowed to park in the college no problem and as it's summer there are plenty of spaces.

Traffic can be a bit slow around that time so maybe give yourself an hour on the first day to get a feel for it. The drive normally takes about 35min on a clear day going (mostly) by the speed limit.

As for parking, you don't need a permit and as it's the summer there are loads of free spaces on the north campus.

Eh yea kinda, during 9-5 the car parks are always packed but you will always find a space. My mates always seem to find a space but its normally the car park beside the the Astro, all the other ones seem to be full all the time. There seems to be a lot of cars that park outside the college (ie the road coming into the Town from Kilcock)

Also for such a small town it has really bad traffic, it can sometimes take 20mins to get through the town.

Traffic on a college day is insane, eg from the M4 into the college you have to go through I think 9 sets of lights.

Parking at the college is crazy too, with most spaces filled up 9-5, even with the newly built car park at the back there is still not enough spaces.

This is the north campus of course.
