In two minds about this. Still recovering from a chest infection. What a summer.

In the hope of being able to do this climb this year, I scouted the two hills todays. This info is useful to those who have not done these clims.

I have attached two Multimap links that should (hopefully) take you to the point referred to.

No 1 on SHeskin Hill south of Carrick.

Initial 500m get tougher. At Severe left 160 degree turn at junction stay well right to avoid excessive gradient at apex - go beyond corner a few feet to take corner in any comfort.

    No 2 Mahon Falls.

you climb 2k to the base of the climb on a reasonable surface, but nothing to get excited over. I may take the skip option at this point. you climb a further 2k on a gravel surface. The climbing is poor and the degree of stones will give a number of punctures. There is over 1k of a decent. This decent is not worth building up speed on. I could see myself going about 10mph. Loose stone is everywhere, sharp turns. There are also two sets of cattle grills one up and one down.

The rest of the run should be reasonable. Hopefully i will be able to get my act together.

PS the number of people training on these hills was to be commended. There will a few mountain goats on the day.
