On Cartell this number is on a Nissan Micra, I got a 1968 copy of Motoring Life today at Trim and in it MIN1 was on a MK1 Escort belonging to the then Chairman of Kerry Co Council.

The reg number must have been transferred from the Escort at some stage. It was possible to transfer a reg from a scrapped vehicle in the 70'/80's....though why anyone would bother putting a nice reg like that on a Micra??

Perhaps the Micra owner had a Mini before the Micra and had the reg transferred to that ....then later scrapped the Mini and had it transferred to the Micra for sentimental reasons??!

MIN1 was a february 68 kerry issue alright.Must have been one of the very first of the Mk1 Escorts?!

i doubt thats a real number..."I" used not to be used in UK along with Q* and Z

    * except for Q reg uncertain date cars...

    Not Your Ornery Onager

All Irish cars had either I or Z, so they could be immediately identified in Britain. No British cars had either of these letters, afair.

    1 MPI was a cork reg(see above)
IMP 1 could have been english and easily transferred.

I can remember seeing MIN 1 on a Micra in Dingle around the middle Eighties. Micra was fairly new as far as I remember. I was told that it belonged to a local politician.

Yeah I think he was based in Dingle. If I remember correctly the reg was on a Corolla K30 before the Micra.
