How do you book a fare deal?

    eg, as advertised on irishrail.ie:
"Dublin-Cork from 16 euro, on selected trains Mon-Thu".

it states that these deals are only available online.

when I click the fare deal box, it displays the trains/times that I can avail of the offer.

so I try to book Dublin-Cork, on such a selected train.

but when I select my train, there is no mention of the fare deal. only the regular price for adult/child/student etc.

HOW do you book the deal?? its driving me nuts. am I missing something obvious?

AFAIK the reduction is applied after you book the ticket.

You could use someone elses I suppose. They might take laser either. Actually now that I think of it, can they not make bookings for you at certain stations???

LOL, the student ticket is more expensive than the adult ticket. :pac:

In which case, book the adult one :) Be aware that not every journey gets the discounted rate so you may find booking an hour earlier or later can save or cost you a few €.

When you are on the window for booking your train time, there is a box below your return trip list; click to see how much your ticket is including the sale price.

Note. To collect your ticket from a machine, you need that credit card. Alternatively, you need the booking reference so you can collect it from the desk.
