You'd probably have to contact IBB to get a definitive answer on that. Probably charge you the remainder of the contract period.

What happens if you cancel the Direct Debit with them and the contract?
How far do they take it?
    Other consequences?

would say regardless of the company they could and charge you the remaining term, and chase for payment, regardless if you have a direct debit or not

If you cancel the direct debit with the bank they're likely to take a harsher line with you than not as it's notoriously difficult you sort out a direct debit once it's been cancelled in this country so they may see you as a lost cause as a customer and forward your details along with any fees due to a collection agency who will be within their rights to charge you their fees, which will probably end up stinging quite a bit.
