I can't even begin to list why I think that's a *bad* idea.

I would warn anyone who does decide to give some suggestions, to do so in a manner that meets with the forum charter, or the thread will have a very short shelf life.

My best friend travelled for a year around the world with her then 2-3 year old and partner. She said there were some limits on what she did but she leads a hippy alternative lifestyle so they mostly stayed in WWOOF farms and houses in Oz and NZ.
They rotated who worked as with WWOOF, you are given food and board in return for helping out a few hours a day with whatever project is on- my friends spent a month in Oz helping someone set up an organic farm.
They generally didn't let having their son affect what they did.
They don't drive so they got buses everywhere.
