Hotmail & Facebook Passwords Changed

    Hi folks,

Not sure if this is the correct forum but I need help.

Tried to log into my hotmail and facebook accounts this morning but both are telling me that my password is incorrect when I type it in.

Then I tried to answer the security answer on my hotmail and it's saying it's the incorrect answer.

This happened before but I was able to change the passwords as I could answer the security question.

But now I can't get into either.

Any ideas? I suppose all I can do is mail MSN?

Who's fault would this be? Is MSN or lack of internet security on my machine?

It's just I remember a couple of months ago an Englsih MP's hotmail was hacked and she said she was taking action against msn.

This is the 2nd time my passwords have changed and I don't want it to happen again obviously.

And just to let you know, I've not accessed any accounts on public computers.

    Any suggestions? Thanks.

Could someone have guessed your passwords? Were they the same?

Has anybody else used your machine recently on your own user account and browse the net or something? Alot of browsers will automatically remember passwords so all they'd have to do is click 'login' and they're in.

No one else has used the laptop at all.

The passwords are the same but there's no one at all who could know them.

Have you heard of this happening to anyone else?

I know that other people's facebook accounts were hacked like mine with that link for the website selling "top quality bud" being sent to their friend's walls.

Ahhh you use the same password for both? Well that's your first mistake, always alternate passwords for different accounts.

Secondly I bet I can guess what happened... you followed a link from either Hotmail or Facebook and it brought you to a page that *looked* like both websites and possibly with a faked URL asking you to log back in as if you've mysteriously logged out.

You enter in these passwords into the fake websites and bang - they have your password.

Nope, haven't followed a link from either to the other.

Have just sent a query to hotmail.

    Hope they get back soon.

    Need my email.

That's not what I said, re-read my post. You clicked a link for instance on facebook that brought you to a link that looked like the facebook login pages making you think 'd'oh, it logged me out' and you log in again.

They have your password then and could very easilly try to log in to hotmail with it too.

It was phished or somone has hacked microsoft and facebook and wanted to annoy you :)
There are only two things that could have happend really, it was fished or someone has a FUD virus on your computer.
It can be more complex than just clicking a link too and I'm sure there is nothing you can do like pressing charges.
